Pavetex (Paving Fabric) nonwovens are specifically engineered for asphalt overlays. These nonwoven geotextiles are installed during rehabilitation as fabric interlayer between the old and the new asphalt layers in flexible pavement systems. Due to polypropylene having an affinity for petroleum, special tack coats easily migrate into the fibers and creates an inert, laminated composite that can extend the lifespan of road pavement by an average of 3 to 5 years. Functions of Pavetex (Paving Fabric): · Acts as moisture barrier · Excellent bonding to become homogenous with tack coat and overlay · To strengthen pavement · Helps overlay to withstand higher stresses by redistributing the loads. · Extend useful life of overlay. |
