Geotextile Tubes in short Geo-tubes have been in the market for many years. Only recently the advantages of tubes have been recognized in the South East Asia region. Geo-tubes are long geotextile or geocomposite tubes, hydraulically filled with mud, soil or sand slurry to be used as marine and hydraulic structures. Emas Kiara is capable of customizing specific Geo-tube configuration to suit different site conditions.

The main application of geo-tubes are used for coastal reclamation and coastal erosion protection for mangrove trees.

Other applications includes

· To replace the inner core of wave-breakers instead of the traditional rock core.

· To protect river mouths at the estuary.

· To protect the shoreline against erosion by forming a dyke system to contain the reclaimed fill material .
