Prefabricated Vertical Drains

 

Asian cities are largely built on and around coastal areas. They are mapped with deposits of soft soils such as marine clay within their strata. Construction often has to deal firstly with the improvement (or increase of bearing capacity) of such water-logged soils. Prefabricated Vertical Drains has been the most common method of soil improvement over the last 30 years. In recent years, the volumes of PVD usage in Asian countries have escalated exponentially.

Emas Kiara produces Alidrain, an acquired patented Canadian technology with 20 years of supply history worldwide. Alidrain is made with a highly flexible studded core that renders the drain unsusceptible to ‘kinking’ during consolidation.

Emas Kiara also produces PVD with the common corrugated core to cater for the market needs and requirement.

Both the unique studded and the corrugated core can be designed to meet the needs of the specific soil conditions for each individual project to ensure a cost effective solution.
