In 1996, Emas Kiara commissioned the manufacture of woven high-tenacity polyester geotextiles to address the growing home and regional markets. Its quality matched international specifications and therefore quickly replaced imports and entered rapidly into the export market.
In 1997, it commissioned the nonwoven plant in the same vicinity of Rawang Industrial Estate in Selangor. Malaysia had its first nonwoven geotextile factory which soon diversified to address other industrial nonwoven needs. |

Expansion into other geosynthetic products has made the Emas Group one of the most diversified geosynthetic producers in the world, manufacturing geotextiles, geogrids, geocomposites, geodrains, and a multitude of erosion control products including geotubes.
Today, Emas Kiara Industries Berhad is listed in the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange, Malaysia.
